Q.How can I obtain a receipt for my payment?
A.A payment confirmation email is sent to the email account provided during the online payment process. If an email address was not provided during the payment process, then a receipt cannot be provided. However, to confirm payment of a citation, contact the Clerk of Court office in the county in which the citation was given (Last updated on  06/04/2013 )
 
Q.How can I find my name to obtain my citation number?
A. Use the online search featureCitation Query by Defendant Name to obtain your citation number. If your court date has not passed, enter your last name + comma + your first name. The more letters entered in the name field, the fewer names will be returned from the search.

Example:
Smith,P (will list many names)
Smith,Phillip (will list fewer names)

Q.I've lost my citation, how can I get my citation number to pay my citation online?
A.If your court date has not passed, use the Citation Query by Defendant Name search feature on www.nccourts.org. If the court date has passed, contact the Clerk of Court in the county in which the citation was issued.  (Last updated on  06/04/2013 )

Q.Who should I contact regarding a credit card issue?

Q.May I use a Visa / MasterCard gift card or rebate card to pay my citation online?
A.No, gift cards or rebate cards are not acceptable methods of payments. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards issued by a credit card company or bank may be used to pay a citation online. (Last updated on  06/04/2013 )

A.No, not at this time. Q.When I pay my citation online, is North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) notified of my payment?
A.Yes, if you pay a waivable traffic offense online thru payNCticket®, NCDMV is notified electronically each evening, Monday through Friday. If you pay your citation online over the weekend, NCDMV will be notified electronically Monday night. (Last updated on  05/31/2013 )

Q.May I pay my citation online if my case has a Failure to Appear (FTA)?
A.Yes, a waivable traffic citation may be paid online if it contains a “Failure to Appear.” You may be charged a FTA fee of $200 in addition to court costs and fine amounts owed. (Last updated on  04/12/2011 )
 
Q.Can I pay my citation online anytime of the day?

Q.How is the portal administration fee added to the Total Amount Due, calculated for processing my citation payment online?
A.The portal administration fee is 2.25% of the Total Amount Due plus $1.00

Example: Total Amount Due: $240.00 (Court Cost and Fine)
2.25% (of $240) + $1.00 = $6.40 (portal administration fee)
$240.00 + $5.40 + $1.00 = $246.40

You will have the opportunity to review all applicable fees prior to finalizing your transaction. At that point, you will have the option to cancel your online transaction if you do not wish to pay the additional portal administration fee. If you choose to cancel the transaction, you will need to mail your payment as directed on your citation, pay in person at the county courthouse, or appear on your court date to dispose of the case before the court.  (Last updated on  06/01/2013 )
