| A. | If you entered your email address when you paid your citation online, a payment confirmation email was sent to your email account.
If you did not enter your email address when you paid your citation online or you can not find the emailed receipt, contact the Clerk of Court office in the county in which you received the citation to verify your citation has been paid. At this time, a duplicate receipt cannot be produced. |

| Q. | When using the ‘Citation Query by Defendant Name’ search feature to obtain my citation number, the search stops after 250 names are listed and I have not found my name yet. How can I find my name to obtain my citation number? |
| A. | If your court date has not passed and you are using the ‘Citation Query by Defendant Name’ search feature, enter your last name + comma + the first few letters of your first name. The more letters entered in the name field, the fewer names will be returned from the search.

| A. | If your court date has not passed, the ‘Citation Query by Defendant Name’ search feature is available at www.nccourts.org . If the court date has passed, contact the Clerk of Court in the county in which the citation was issued. |

| A. | No, gift cards or rebate cards can not be used to pay your citation online. Only Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express credit and debit cards issued by a credit card company or bank may be used to pay a citation online. |

| Q. | I received a citation in North Carolina in the year 2000. Can I pay this ticket online? |
| A. | Only waivable citations issued on or after December 1, 2005 are available for online payment at this time. |

| A. | The contact information for each county can be found at NC County Court Contacts. |

| Q. | I went to court and got my citation reduced/amended by the DA. Can I still pay my citation online?

| A. | No, not at this time. If the citation has been reduced or amended to a different offense than you were originally charged with, you must pay at the Clerk of Court office or by mail.

| A. | No, the name on the credit/debit card and the name on the citation do not have to match.

| Q. | When I pay my citation online, is North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV) notified of my payment?

| A. | Yes, if you pay a waivable traffic offense online thru payNCticket®, NCDMV is notified electronically each evening, Monday through Friday. If you pay your citation online over the weekend, DMV will be notified electronically Monday night.
