|Q.||My calendar subscription confirmation email will not open. It gives me a message “One moment please….” and nothing happens.|
|A.||This is typically a problem with the email client on your PC. Save the HTML attachment to your local drive or desktop environment. Then open it from that location. This will cause your subscription verification to be sent to us. We must receive this subscription verification in order for you to begin receiving the subscribed to calendar.
If you still cannot open the HTML document from your local drive and are using MS Internet Explorer as your browser, make sure that Java Scripting has been enabled. From the Internet Explorer menu select Tools, then Internet Options. On the Security tab select Custom Level, scroll down to "Active Scripting" and make sure this option is set to enabled.
|Q.||I subscribed to one of the court calendars, but I never received the confirmation email nor am I receiving the calendars.|
|A.||More than likely you entered an invalid email address which means that all emails sent to it come back undelivered. Subscribe to the calendar again, and make sure the email address entered is valid (double check for misspellings). |
|Q.||I was receiving the calendars I subscribed to, but recently none have come through to my email box. What’s wrong?|
|A.||If you were receiving your subscribed calendars through your email address and now are not, listed below are some common reason for this interruption.
First contact your network or email administrator to have them investigate the problem with your Internet/email provider. The AOC does have an “undeliverable mail” center for calendar subscription emails that come back undelivered.
- The recipient’s mailbox is full.
- Your company’s network or email administrator is blocking incoming emails with “ZIP” file attachments or it may be considering it as SPAM email.
- Your company’s internet provider is blocking emails with “ZIP” file attachments or they have changed their filtering rules in such a manner that they now consider this email message to contain dangerous file types as attachments.
- Somewhere between AOC’s SMTP gateway and your company’s SMTP gateway, the email files have been rejected or blocked. Usually for the same reasons as mention in the previous bullet.
Please Note: When we receive an "undeliverable e-mail" return message for an e-mail address, the undeliverable e-mail address is deleted from the calendar subscription database two weeks after receipt of the first "undeliverable e-mail" message.
The only resolution might be for you to unsubscribe to the calendar and then re-subscribe perhaps with a new email address.
|Q.||How can I do a defendant search through all counties using the District and Superior Court Query?|
|A.||On the District and Superior Court Query page, scroll to the bottom of the “County Name List” and select the option “All Counties”. Enter the defendant’s last name and click on Submit Query. The query list will be returned alphabetized in County name order, by defendant name.
|Q.||I think I’m scheduled for court, but I do not see my name/case on any of the court calendar query lists. What should I do?
|A.||If you do not find your name on the court calendar listing for the date you think it’s scheduled, check the calendars for the previous and next days to see if it is on one of these. If it is not, then contact the Clerk of Superior Court in the County in which the case is to be tried. The Clerk or a member of their staff will assist you. |
|Q.||I want to find out the disposition of a particular civil or criminal court case. How can I obtain this information?|
|A.||Case disposition information is not available on-line through the N. C. Court System website. The information can be obtained on-line by doing a defendant search from within the courthouse in the County where the case was tried; or it can be obtained by requesting a background check from one of the background check companies listed on the N.C. Courts System website. ( |
|Q.||How long do court calendars remain on the website?|
|A.||Both civil and criminal court calendars remain posted on the website for the county for five (5) working days after the court date shown in the calendar title.
|Q.||Is there any way I can unsubscribe in mass from receiving multiple court calendars from multiple counties?|
|A.||If you have subscribed to various court calendars for more than ten counties, send an email request to Webmaster@nccourts.org requesting that you be unsubscribed from receiving these calendars. Include in the email the email address used for the subscription, along with the county names and we can programmatically delete the email address from our database. |
|Q.||When printing the court calendars, the final digit is left off. What causes this?|
|A.||Your browser print margins are set too narrow. You need to set your browser print margins to .56. From the browser menue choose File, Page Settings. Set the left and right Margins to .56. For Orientation, select "Portrait". |
|Q.||Where on nccourts.org is the new civil calendar search by attorney bar number?|
|A.||From the nccourts.org home page, do the following:
- Select Court Calendars from Favorites on the right side of the screen
- Select Court Calendars on the left
- Select Civil Calendar Attorney Query by Bar Number
|Q.||Why doesn’t my civil calendar date appear when I search by my bar number?|
|A.||The calendar in question may not be eligible for the search feature. To confirm that the calendar in question was intended to be posted as a searchable calendar, on the Civil Calendar Attorney Query by Bar Number results webpage, use “Select county to view information about which calendars are posted.”
Your bar number may be recorded incorrectly in the court’s VCAP or CaseWise system. Do the following to obtain help:
- On the Civil Calendar Attorney Query by Bar Number results webpage, use “Select county to view information about which calendars are posted.”
- Determine which office is responsible for posting the calendar in question.
- Contact the office responsible for posting the calendar in question to report the problem.
