In a ceremony on Tuesday, April 10, the Supreme Court of North Carolina will honor the women justices who have served on the state's highest court. This commemorative ceremony is the second official event to be held as a part of the Supreme Courtís 200th anniversary celebration.|
Current and former women justices who have served on the court will be honored, including:
Tuesday, April 10, at 10:00 a.m.
Attendance is by invitation. Due to the large turnout expected, Supreme Court courtroom seating is limited. Additional seating will be available in the Law and Justice Building and in the Court of Appeals Building.
Press is invited to attend, and should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start time. WRAL will provide the pool camera.

The Supreme Court of North Carolina is the stateís highest court and there is no further appeal from its decisions on matters of state law. It comprises the Chief Justice, who also serves as the head of the Judicial Branch, and six associate justices, each serving eight-year terms.
