The N.C. Business Court is upgrading its eFiling system on Monday, June 19. The new, web-based filing system provides much improved functionality and features for attorneys, filers, and judicial staff.|
The interface delivers a modern and user-friendly experience, and features new search capabilities. Registered attorneys and filers (pro se) may file documents electronically and securely to the court 24/7, as well as access court documents, case histories, status notifications, and more. Additionally, the new system provides a browser-based case management system with workflow queues and judicial tools to manage cases.
All pending cases will be transferred to the new system, as well as archived cases from the past three years. Additional historical cases and new functionality will be released in upcoming phases.
During the weekend of June 16, an email with instructions for setting up an eFiling account in the new system will be sent to the email address on record for users of the Business Court's existing eFiling system.
eFiling services will be unavailable from 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 18, until 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19. The new eFiling system will go live at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19. If you need to file on June 18 or 19 during the times listed above, please send your filing to email@example.com, pursuant to Business Court Rule 3.10.
Account access and tutorials will be available in the coming days at www.ncbusinesscourt.net.
The new eFiling system is developed by Tybera, a national electronic filing vendor for courts and government, which also provides eFiling services for civil superior and domestic violence cases in North Carolina. An early leader in electronic filing, the Business Court has provided eFiling since the court was established in 1996. This new system is the latest addition to the online services offered as part of eCourts, the larger initiative to modernize the North Carolina court system.
