| | A member of the Supreme Court of North Carolina since February 2006, Justice Patricia Timmons-Goodson is the first African-American woman to sit and the third woman elected to serve on North Carolina’s highest court. With 25 years of service in the judiciary, Justice Timmons-Goodson is one of North Carolina’s longest serving active judges. Born in Florence, South Carolina, on September 18, 1954 to Beulah and Edward Timmons (E-7 US Army), she was raised on military bases in the United States and in Europe. Legal and Judicial Experience
