Yadkin County Jury Service

Find information about jury service in this county.

Length of Service

Jurors are typically summoned for a one-week session. Occasionally, jurors may be summoned for multi-week sessions when complex and / or lengthy matters are to be tried. Jurors can and often do serve on more than one trial. Jurors are obligated to the court for the entire week's session of court, until excused by the presiding judge.

When and Where to Report

The majority of jury trials are held in Courtroom 1 on the second floor of the Yadkin County Courthouse. Each potential juror is given specific instructions on their jury summons as to when and where to report for jury service.

Requests to be Excused

Jurors who wish to be excused or deferred from jury service must contact the clerk of superior court's office ten (10) business days prior to their date of service. The clerk of court staff will present requests to be excused or deferred to the next available district court judge who decides whether jurors will be excused or deferred to another term of court.
