Deferred from Jury Service
 
In Rowan County, all requests to be excused or deferred must be submitted to the Clerk of Court's Office no later than the Wednesday before you are to serve.

The Court realizes prospective jurors may be summoned at an inconvenient time and is willing to defer service to a more convenient time in most instances. A person wishing to be deferred to a later date may call the number provided on the jury summons or may appear at the time of jury excusing. A prospective juror may only have jury service postponed once. There are no exceptions.

Anyone requesting deferment will be sent a notice in the near future of their next reporting date. It is important to note that the prospective juror will be required to serve at that time. A prospective juror will not be eligible to be excused from jury service or to have his/her jury service date postponed again.
