Filing a Domestic Violence Protective Order

  1. Obtain the forms listed under Requesting a Domestic Violence Protective Order from the Clerk of Court's Office.
  2. Complete the forms.
  3. Present the completed forms to the Clerk of Court for filing.
  4. Following the filing, the Clerk of Court will provide copies for the Plaintiff and copies to be served on the Defendant.
  5. The copies can be hand delivered or mailed to the County Sheriff's Office. It is recommended that if the forms are mail, that they sent using Overnight or Registered mail.
