No employer may discharge or demote any employee because the employee has been called for jury service, or is serving as a grand juror or petit juror (N.C.G.S. § 9-32). Jurors should notify their employers immediately of their jury service. If proof of jury service is needed for an employer, statements will be provided at the end of the day or at the end of the trial, if selected to serve on a trial.
Although the law does not require employers to pay employees in full while serving, there are employers who do. Citizens who have served as jurors in the past have shared the below names with us, and we add new names to list as they are received. We would like to acknowledge these employers for their commitment to the judicial system and their community.
