Elisa assists the Chief District Court Judge with the development and operation of the Family Court. She develops and evaluates case management procedures, prepares local rules and forms for publication, develops program evaluation tools, and manages community outreach efforts. She also hires and supervises the Family Court staff.
Family Law Facilitator Program Coordinator, Diana Carter

Diana is the Family Law Facilitator Program (FLFP) coordinator. This program provides legal assistance to individuals who are identified by Youth and Family Services as kin care providers seeking to gain custody of children who might otherwise enter the foster care system.

Mary Florence is responsible for scheduling cases for hearings, trials, custody mediation orientation and Parent Education. She provides dates to pro se litigants in person, and to attorneys in person, by telephone, and by email. Mary is also responsible for processing orders and updating CaseWise information with names, addresses, attorney information and court dates.

Darwin is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Self-Serve Center. The Self-Serve Center is a court-provided community resource that provides forms and other educational tools to assist pro se litigants access the justice system.
Case Coordinator, Shawana Almendarez

Shawana is responsible for preparing all domestic hearing, trial, and pretrial conference calendars for publication each week and mailing notices of hearings and trials to pro se litigants and out of town attorneys. Shawana also handles continuance requests from attorneys and litigants, attends calendar call for each court session and reschedules hearings which were not reached in each court session. In addition, Shawana works with the Trial Court Administrator’s Office to ensure that all calendars are posted on the internet as well as in the Mecklenburg Times newspaper.
Case Coordinator, Adrienne White

Adrienne monitors completion of Parent Education and Custody Mediation, and places cases that fail to comply with these requirements on a contempt calendar. She also processes motions for emergency custody, temporary parenting arrangements and mediation/parent education waivers.

Russell is responsible for scheduling the next court event for all custody cases that involve at least one attorney after the case has closed in mediation. He places cases that fail to comply with these requirements on a contempt calendar. In addition to these Family Court Case Manager duties, Russell serves as the Juvenile Court Case Manager in Juvenile Court.
Case Coordinator, Kenneth Hart

Kenneth is responsible for monitoring domestic cases to ensure that they are disposed of in a timely manner. He is the liaison between litigants/attorneys and the Judges regarding final resolution of cases within time standards. Kenneth conducts monthly screenings and works with the Judges and Clerk’s Office to get cases closed. He prepares the domestic productivity statistics and handles special projects or requests from Judges.
Permanency Mediation and Case Coordinator, Erin Stack

Erin manages the Permanency Mediation Program for Juvenile A/N/D Court. In addition, she tracks and pursues overdue Family Court orders. Erin delivers order status reports to each judge after each term, and notifies attorneys when an order is overdue. She alerts Kenneth to aging or inactive cases.

Lizette provides secretarial and administrative support to the custody mediators. She also processes and tracks cases throughout the mediation process.

Katherine assists parties involved in custody and visitation cases with reaching a mediated parenting agreement. If an agreement is reached, Katherine prepares the agreement for the parties’ signature.
