Qualifications of Jurors

In order to qualify for jury service in Iredell County, a person:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be a North Carolina citizen
- Must be a resident of Iredell County. (Note: Anyone either registered to vote in Iredell County or having a driver's license record with a Iredell County address is considered a resident of the county and is, if not otherwise ineligible, eligible to serve.(N.C.G.S. 9-3))
- Must be able to understand the English language
- Must not have served as a juror in State or Federal courts within the last two (2) years
- Must not have been convicted of a felony, unless that person's rights have been restored (a convicted felon's rights are automatically restored upon the unconditional discharge by the North Carolina Department of Correction, N.C.G.S. 13-1)
- Must be physically and mentally competent
