All records maintained by the Clerk of Superior Court in criminal and civil cases are public records, unless ordered sealed by a judge. No search of court records can be provided over the telephone, however, public access computer terminals are available on the first floor of the Harnett County Courthouse during normal business hours. For copies of court records, state law requires a fee of $2.00 for the first page and $0.25 for each additional page. Certified (sealed) true copies of court records cost $3.00, and $0.25 for each additional page over 5 pages. Exemplified copies of court records, which are usually necessary when sending the court record to another state's court, are $10.00.
