FAQs on Jury Service
Deferred from Jury Service
Guilford county, district 18, jury service, Deferred
The Court realizes prospective jurors may be summoned at an inconvenient time and is willing to defer service to a more convenient time in most instances. A person wishing to be deferred to a later date may call the number listed on the jury summons, submit their request in writing to the address listed on the summons, or come in person to the third floor of the Greensboro Courthouse on Tuesdays or Thursdays between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 at the Jury Assembly Room. A prospective juror may only have jury service postponed once. There are
no exceptions
.
Anyone requesting a deferment will be sent a new summons with their new reporting date. It is important to note that the prospective juror will be required to serve at that time. A prospective juror will not be eligible to be excused from jury service or to have his/her jury service date postponed again.
