For some infractions that involve automobile collisions, it is possible the charges against you will be dismissed if you present a letter from your insurance company indicating that they have paid for (or accepted liability for) the damages you caused to another's property.
Such letter should clearly state the date of the accident referenced and
must contain one of the following statements:
- We have accepted liability on behalf of our insured for damages caused (in the referenced accident), or
- We have issued a settlement draft to (named claimant) in satisfaction of his/her claim, or
- We have issued settlement drafts to all third-party claimants in satisfaction of their claims.
