Honorable Martin B. McGee
|
Martin B. (Marty) McGee has served as a North Carolina District Court Judge in Cabarrus County (Judicial District 19A) since October 2000. During his time on the bench, Judge McGee has presided over thousands of cases involving family law, criminal law, juvenile law, civil matters and infractions. Prior to becoming a judge, he participated in litigation pending before courts ranging from the Supreme Court of the United States to small claims court.
Practice of Law:
He is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Legal Activities:
Judge McGee regularly teaches at legal education programs for judges and attorneys and serves on the North Carolina Association of District Court Judges' Education Committee. He also enjoys writing about legal topics and hosts Court Q & A, a television program dedicated to educating the public about legal issues.
Education:
He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University School of Law.
Personal:
Judge McGee is married to Debin McGee and they reside in Concord with their two children.
