Recorded Ethical Issues Webinar (Recorded July 17, 2015): How Using a Trauma Lens Can Impact Rules of Professional Conduct
This webinar (recorded on July 17, 2015) was designed to assist lawyers who work with families and children to develop a Trauma-Informed Client-Lawyer Relationship. It is now being made available for anyone interested in the impact of psychological safety and strategies. Developing a psychologically safe environment for families will be discussed. Participants will learn how previous trauma can impact adult functioning and a client’s capacity to make decisions regarding representation. This program will explore how using a trauma lens can impact several Rules of Professional Conduct (Conduct 1.3 - Diligence; 1.4(b) - Communication; and 1.14(a) – Client with Diminished Capacity. Whether working primarily with adults or with children, this workshop contains practical advice that will help in court.

Registration and sign in for this event is requested as we are on a federal grant and must track in-kind hours.
Registrants will be sent the link to the video and sign in sheet within two days of registration. These registrants may then have others join in at their computer to participate. This will serve to report our in-kind hours and we will send you a certificate of participation if desired.
